A deep thinker with a steel-trap mind for detail, John Mitchell brings valuable insights and solutions to his broad range of tax clients. His passion for successful tax planning has evolved through years of dedicated work with clients across many different industries. Embracing research questions with unbridled enthusiasm, he firmly believes in the axiom: “There are no stupid questions.”

John’s client portfolio includes several categories of taxpayers. From trusts and estates to family partnerships, he serves many of Houston’s high-net-worth individuals. With a strong background in serving small to mid-size businesses, he also delivers tax solutions to area businesses. Above all, his goal is to develop and sustain long-lasting professional relationships based on trust. He wants to be the go-to person whenever his clients have tax questions.

John started his career working in the Trust Tax departments of two different banks, beginning with First Security Bank in Utah before moving on to Bank of America in Missouri. He then transitioned into public practice after a move to Wisconsin to pursue the woman of his dreams.

John joined Mohle Adams in 2010 and was promoted to partner in 2015.

John and his wife Shannon have four children and two grandchildren. Having grown up in Spokane, Washington, John is afflicted with being a lifelong Seattle Mariners fan. Watching baseball is a passion, even if the Mariners seemingly never have winning seasons. Beyond baseball, John is an advocate for homeschooling, active in his church, and an avid chess player.
